Community Outreach

Grants for Students. Every year Yee works directly with local schools and students to be sure they are aware of the various state sponsored scholarships available to them, including the CalGrants program

Health Fairs. Held numerous health fairs, bringing together representatives from San Mateo County Health Agency, Seton Medical Center, California Health Initiative, Daly City Senior Services, Blood Centers of the Pacific, Planned Parenthood and the Daly City Fire Department to offer blood pressure checks, free evaluations from local optometrists and chiropractors and community health information

Filipino Veterans. Spoke out on behalf of Filipino WWII veterans from San Mateo County whose disability benefits were cut by Governor Schwarzenegger

Opposed School Budget Cuts. Joined with San Mateo County Community College leaders and students at Cañada College in Redwood City to speak out against the Governor's proposed budget cuts to higher education

Coastal Clean Up. Built awareness and participation in Coastal Clean Up days on beaches in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties

Food for the needy. Organized Thanksgiving food drive which donated turkeys to San Mateo County food banks for families in need

•

Assistance for Disaster Victims. Raised funds to assist families in the Philippines devastated by typhoons
