Leland Yee only candidate endorsed by California Nurses, United Educators, Sierra Club, AND San Francisco Labor Council

SAN FRANCISCO – Today, the city’s leading organizations asked San Francisco voters to cast their first choice vote for Senator Leland Yee in next Tuesday’s election.  Yee is the only candidate to be endorsed by all of the following organizations – California Nurses Association, United Educators of San Francisco, Sierra Club, and San Francisco Labor Council.

“Senator Yee is a longtime, passionate advocate for universal health care and he has consistently stood up to the insurance companies, Schwarzenegger, and their fake health care reform measures,” said Zenei Cortez, Council of Presidents, California Nurses Association/ National Nurses United. “His record in areas such as mental health services, HIV funding, children’s health, and hospital disclosure should make every San Franciscan proud.  This is why we enthusiastically support Leland Yee for Mayor of San Francisco.”

“Yee’s plan for schools demonstrates his commitment to education, said Dennis Kelley, President, United Educators of San Francisco.  “San Francisco Teachers trust Leland to prioritize our kids and schools, and we are proud to support Leland Yee for Mayor.”

“Leland Yee has the strongest and most established environmental record of the candidates running for Mayor, and we proudly endorse his campaign,” said Arthur Feinstein, Chair, Sierra Club, San Francisco Bay Chapter. “His vision will help San Francisco lead the nation in environmental stewardship.”

“We need a mayor who will put jobs first,” said Eileen Prendiville, Executive Board Member, San Francisco Labor Council.  “Yee has the experience, leadership, and the plan to create jobs, improve the economic climate, and bring businesses back to San Francisco.  He has always been dedicated to working families and this why we proudly endorse him as our next mayor.”

Yee has released detailed plans to create jobs, improve our economy, fix Muni, protect our environment, increase government transparency and strengthen our schools.  To read his plans, visit LelandYee.com.
