Improving school nutrition
Named the CSFSA Legislator of the Year for his work to improve school nutrition, Leland Yee understands that the consumption of high-fat,
high-calories foods in our schools has created a health epidemic for California’s children. Nationwide, the percentage of children and
adolescents who are overweight has tripled in the past thirty years. In California, roughly one in four 5th, 7th and 9th graders
is overweight.
