Making College More Affordable
As a former teacher, Leland Yee understands that California’s colleges are an essential part of our state’s educational system.
He has consistently worked to improve access to affordable education, and help prepare millions of Californians for better and
higher-paying jobs.

| Community College Legislator of the Year. Named Community College Legislator of the Year by the Faculty Association of
California Community Colleges for his work to improve and support California’s Community Colleges

| CalGrants. Works directly with schools and students to be sure they are aware of the various state sponsored scholarships
available to them, including CalGrants

| Transfer Programs. For those students who wish to earn their degree from a Californian State University, Yee supported a
bill to establish a transfer program to help community college students transfer to a state school
