Standing Up For Those Without A Voice

While the right-wing conservative assault on civil rights and liberties continues, Leland Yee has been there time and time again to stand up for underrepresented communities and those without a voice.

His long track record on civil rights includes opposition to Propositions 54 and 209 which attacked fundamental programs that provide equal access to housing, education and jobs; support for bi-lingual education; opposition to anti-immigrant initiatives such as Proposition 187; support for same-sex marriage and equal rights for domestic partners; support for disabled persons and fair access to government services for individuals who do not speak English.

Leland is proud to be supported in his campaign for State Senate by California's most respected civil rights leaders including Dolores Huerta, State Senator Carole Migden, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris.
